What the Heck!
The other day I received an email from my daughter who is an author at my blog@blogger telling her that MY blog was thought to be a spammer blog. their little “robots” were doing their job? HUH??? Excuse me but do you think that they would contact the OWNER of the blog? OH NO! That would be too hard to do.
I have this notice on my blog where you create your posts:
This blog has been locked by Blogger’s spam-prevention robots. You will not be able to publish your posts.
Blogger’s spam-prevention robots have detected that your blog has characteristics of a spam blog. (What’s a spam blog?) Since you’re an actual person reading this, your blog is probably not a spam blog. Automated spam detection is inherently fuzzy, and we sincerely apologize for this false positive.
We received your unlock request on August 1, 2008. On behalf of the robots, we apologize for locking your non-spam blog. Please be patient while we take a look at your blog and verify that it is not spam.
Ok so this happened at 4:30 PM in the afternoon on the 31st of July and i acted immediately and they tell me they received my notice on the 1st of Aug? Are they kidding me??? They don’t even have the right date unless they are located in Tim-Buck-Two!
So now I am waiting not so patiently for them to figure out how to unlock my blog. I went to their so called help blogger and see that there are many more that this has happened to. Hey I am all for ridding spammers but is my blog a spam? I don’t think so. I prefer blogger because I am used to it and I don’t want to redo my blog. But WordPress makes it so easy to import your blog. HA HA!
So maybe if I can con my daughter into fixing this one up and making it all pretty again and putting all my links and pics back on the sides then I just might stay here. We shall see how long it takes for blogger to have their little mechanical robots undo their stupidity.

Thank you all!
I really appreciate all the positive comments both here and personally. To answer a couple of questions. The canvas that I used was a board canvas that I cut with an Exacto knife. I broke through the board and then cut with scissors. I am so impatient and not so good with one of those knives. I sanded the edges and then glued decorative paper on the back of them. Treated the canvas with some gesso and painted with acrylic paints. Applied the tissue paper and then the napkins using gel medium.
As far as those lovely butterflies…I just took a piece of card stock and painted them with acrylic paints. Using a coral, yellow and a soft green that I just squirted on and used a foam brush to splat the paint around. Once dried I used my favorite ink pad India Black Ink from Stewart Superior and then cut them out. You can’t see in the photo but I layered the butterflies. There are at least 3 of them just using some pop dots to give it dimension.
The large butterfly on my dad’s picture is a lace butterfly that also was painted. The wings of that butterfly are also raised to give it more depth.
I was going to connect them but decided that they would look great on the mantle resting on book plates.
Peace to all my friends!

Theme Thursday – Valentines
It’s that time of year with love in the air and the theme for “Theme Thursday” is Valentines!
Here is one that I made using images from Altered Pages. I made the background using paints and stamps and then giving them a light wash of gesso.

Start of a new year!
Can you imagine that it’s already 2008! I remember when my son and I sat in our living room on Dec. 31, 1999 only moments from the strike of midnight and held our breath because of all the hype about Y2K. Well here we are!! My computer was so old at the time and was not Y2K ready but I managed to get it going by setting the date back at sometime in the 60′s so it would work. LOL!
I made this 4×4 in celebration of the New Year! I don’t get to play to often because of so many commitments that I combined 3 of the challenges that have been set forth for us to try.
For Mixed Media Monday here is my creation for celebration, for Theme Thursday I added the flourish and for 4 x 4 Friday I used sequin waste as a stencil.
My image is from InkaStamps and the flourish and stickers are from K&Company. My little rhinestones do not sparkle in the scan but rest assure This Little Angel is ready to party!

TGIAPF and the theme is
This week’s challenge was chosen by Robin Willis one of the Members of the DT for Altered Pages and she decided to honor Veteran’s Day which is this Sunday here in the United States.
All countries in this world have Veterans and we challenge you to create something using the colors red, white and blue. You can use one or all of the colors to create and ATC, an altered book spread, a deco, tag, inchie, card….whatever you desire. The only rules are to follow the theme and you MUST use an image from Altered Pages.
Post your creation to the Altered Pages Gallery and be sure to let us know it is there so we can take a peek!!!

Theme Thursday
This is just the thing that you need to spark your muse! This weeks challenge was to use a script stamp of your choice. I made the two of these. This was so much fun and can’t wait to see what next weeks challenge is.
